Tadqiqotda marosimlarning tarixiy ildizlari, ularning ijtimoiy va madaniy funksiyalari, shuningdek, Xorazm vohasiga xos xususiyatlari yoritilgan. Beshik to‘yi nafaqat oilaviy quvonch ifodasi, balki avlodlar davomiyligini ta’minlovchi muhim ijtimoiy institut sifatida baholanadi. Maqolada tug‘ilishdan boshlab chilla davri, ism qo‘yish, beshikka belash, himoya va magik tasavvurlar bilan bog‘liq urf-odatlar kompleks tarzda tahlil qilinadi.
